Form
Adjective stem + -다면 ; verb stem + -ㄴ/는다면 — « if ... »
Function
-다면 presents a statement as a hypothesis: “if it’s really the case that… / assuming that…”… ».
Why this form?
-으면 is the neutral condition (e.g., : 시간이 있으면 갈게요. — If I have time, I'll go.)
-다면 places greater emphasis on a proposed hypothesis.
Examples
내가 멀쩡하다면… — If I'm okay...
그게 사실이라면 문제예요. — If that's true, it's a problem.
