Grammar

-아/어도

even if; although

Form

Verb/adjective stem + -아/어도; noun + (이)어도 — “even if”, “although”.

Function

Marks concession: the main statement holds despite the condition or circumstance.

Why this form?

-지만 — but; although : contrasts two facts or judgments; -아/어도 emphasizes that the main clause still holds despite the first.

How to build it

With nouns: N-(이)어도; contracted N-여도 is possible in suitable environments. 기억이어도 contains -어도 after 이다.
